Process Technician
About JA Solar:
In January 2023, JA Solar, a global solar cell, and module manufacturing leader, announced its first manufacturing facility in the U.S. (United States). in Phoenix, Arizona. The new facility will produce high-performance photovoltaic (PV) products and is expected to be operational by Q2 2024, creating over 700 new jobs. The facility represents a $60 million investment and will utilize highly automated assembly lines to produce high-efficiency solar panels for commercial and residential applications, as well as utility-scale solar power plants.
The scope of work
- Daily maintenance and improvement of the process in the workshop, investigation, and resolution of on-site abnormalities
- Standardized operation, monitoring the implementation
- Assistance to the supervisor in new employees’ training
Duties and responsibilities:
- Process inspection: Responsible for supervising the flow, method and system implementation of each production process, and assisting the production line to achieve various indicators, including A rate, repair rate, output achievement, fragmentation rate, and PL
- Abnormality troubleshooting: Responsible for analysis and solution of problems affecting the achievement of assessment indicators. Responsible for statistical analysis of each process data, timely feedback of process anomalies, analysis, and implementation of measures
- Training: Responsible for the training of SOP, TECN, new product documentation, optimization process methods and others. Responsible for the training and supervision of production line operation
- Implementation effect: Responsible for the implementation of on-site improvement measures and effect verification. Responsible for the completion rate and execution of assigned items
- MES Setting: Participate in, coordinate, and solve the system setup and inspection in production, execute the order-related requirements, MES inspection, order setup, order preparation, and take the responsibility of execution, supervision and coordination
- Innovation: To solve the abnormalities and put forward reasonable suggestions, improvement innovation, continuous optimization, and improvement responsibility for production line defects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above. Major in materials, physics, optical information, semiconductors, etc
- Intermediate engineer or above. Other relevant certificates are preferred
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiar with the process of technology improvement and innovation, and the process of new technology introduction and promotion. Able to independently lead a team to propose and solve technical problems and carry out technological innovation
- Good written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Office software, especially PPT
- Possess certain analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Working conditions:
- Able to work extended hours as needed
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, and extreme noise
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location
- May be required to work after hours and on weekends or holidays
Physical requirements:
- Requires prolonged standing, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Medium Work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around equipment
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls
