Process Engineering Technician
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Management & Maintenance
- Perform daily maintenance, improvement, and enhancement of production processes to ensure smooth operation.
- Inspect production processes and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor equipment and process parameters to maintain product quality and efficiency.
2. Troubleshooting & Abnormality Resolution
- Address on-site production issues promptly and effectively to minimize downtime.
- Analyze process anomalies, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely feedback to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and equipment teams to resolve complex issues.
- Record all abnormalities and resolutions, providing reports for significant problems.
3. Cost Control & Optimization
- Monitor and manage the usage of auxiliary materials in the workshop.
- Identify opportunities to reduce material waste and optimize resource utilization.
4. Training & Development
- Provide training on SOPs, technical documents, and new processes for production staff.
- Supervise and evaluate operators to ensure adherence to standards and proper operation of production lines.
- Support the onboarding of new team members and upskilling of existing staff.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify areas for process optimization and propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
- Implement new technologies and process improvements while monitoring their effectiveness.
- Support the introduction and promotion of new products and processes in collaboration with engineering teams.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of process inspections, abnormalities, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit analysis reports for major incidents and continuous improvement initiatives.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with departments such as Production, Quality Assurance (QA), Facilities, and Maintenance to ensure cohesive operations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet production targets.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in solar or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Familiarity with solar manufacturing processes such as cell/module assembly, lamination, or testing.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of process control, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in using process monitoring tools and data analysis software.
- Skilled in MS Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process documentation.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Certifications
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent is a plus.
Languages
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Mandarin is preferred.
